Live Healthy Spalding County!
It’s time to Step up to Health!
February – April, 2008

Congratulations! You have taken the first step
towards better health by agreeing to make healthy choices a part of
your life! You have accepted the challenge to increase your level of
physical activity for the next three months and to record your
progress! Choosing to enjoy regular physical activity will give you
many benefits and we hope you will be dedicated to this program
because your health is important!
Spalding County is committed to the success of this program and not
only will you receive personal health benefits but Spalding County
will reward your efforts at the completion of this 3 month program
with a gift. To receive your gift all we ask is for you to keep a
log of the miles/hours you’ve dedicated to physical activity and at
the end of each month (Feb. Mar. & Apr.) report your activities by
going to www.spaldingparksandrec.com.
Click on “Employee Fitness Challenge” and follow the prompts. It
will only take a moment of your time! If you do not have access to
email simply fax a copy of your enclosed activity log to
770-467-4755.
Walking is one of the easiest and most convenient forms of exercise
and here are a few ways to increase your daily activity:
• Take a walk with your family, friend or dog
• Use the stairs instead of the elevator
• Park farther from the store
• Take short breaks during your work day and walk
• Wear a pedometer for motivation to walk more!
• Play with your children and grandchildren!
• Enjoy your Parks and Recreation facilities!
If organized or planned activities motivate you
try some of these!
• Running
• Cycling
• Weight Circuits
• Basketball
• Martial Arts
• Yoga
• Pilates
• Bowling |
• Swimming
• Softball
• Volley Ball
• Aerobics
• Dance
• Tennis
• Hiking |
Better health is just a step away! If you are choosing a new
activity please make sure you’ve checked with your doctor before you
begin! It’s important to start slow and gradually increase your
activity level. Beginning with a warm up and ending with a cool down
period will help minimize muscle pain and injury and keep you on
track towards your goal!
Take time each day to make healthy choices!
