Spalding County Parks and Recreation is an agency which is committed to excellence and in being so a Comprehensive Master Plan has been developed for the entire park system in Spalding County. A Master Plan evaluates the growth and needs of a community and then provides a road map establishing specific goals for the development of needed parks, facilities and programs. The first Master Plan was completed in 1993 and as a result it was determined that Spalding County needed a Regional Park thus resulting in the building of Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park and the acquisition of Dundee Lake Park. This is an example of the purpose of developing a plan for the future. The latest Comprehensive Master plan was completed in 2008 and projects the needs of the entire county with goals for the next 5 and 10 years. A Master Plan of Dundee Lake Park was completed in 2007. Please take a look at what the future of our park system could be providing public and local government support.
